High Tunnel Construction Workshop, Sept. 12

The Texas Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association (TOFGA) is teaming up with the Denton County Extension office to offer an evening class on high tunnels, Thursday, Sept. 12 from 6:30 – 8:30, at the Denton County Extension Office in the Joseph A. Carroll Building (401 W. Hickory Street, Suite 112).

Attendees will learn the benefits of high tunnel production of specialty crops, different high tunnel styles, materials needed for high tunnel construction, and the process of constructing a high tunnel.

Instructor Mengmeng Gu is an assistant professor and Extension Specialist at Texas A&M. Her specializations include plant stress physiology and sustainable agriculture. Mengmeng was a workshop presenter at the 2013 TOFGA conference in Austin, and she is also a Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (SSAWG) board member.

How to pay for your order and membership fee

NOTE: We are working out a better payment arrangement, but for now here are two ways that you may pay for your orders and membership fees.

- To pay via PayPal:

• Log into your paypal account and click on the send money button.

• The crosstimbers id for payment is membership@crosstimberscoop.org

- To pay with check or money order:

• Send a check payable to “Cross Timbers Food Co-op” to Cross Timbers Food Co-op, P.O. Box 565, Denton, Texas, 76202.

• Payment must be received (not postmarked) by delivery day. This is so t that we may pay our producers when they deliver their goods.

Arive at the pickup location on delivery day to pick up your order. In some cases we can take payment at time of pickup, but only if you have given us advanced notice so we can be prepared to pay the producer.
