Honey
Desert Creek Local Raw Honey, 2 PoundGrower: Sloans Creek Heritage Meats, L.L.C.
Price: $10.50 ( 2 pound )Available (Exact): 0
All of the honey produced by Desert Creek Honey Co. is 100% pure, raw, and unfiltered honey. In some honey bought from the grocery store, it has been heated to an excess of 160 degrees. That high temperature kills almost all of the natural benefits of honey. Desert Creek does not warm the honey to that excessive temperature, so much, if not all, of the natural values are left. They also do not filter the honey. It is only strained.
The difference between filtering and straining is this, filtering forces honey through a filter made of diatomaceous earth (the stuff used in pool filters) at very high temperatures. This removes every particle in the honey, including the pollen. Straining simply means the honey is slowly allowed to run through a strainer made of nylon cloth. All this does is remove the unnecessary bits of wax. All of the natural pollen is still remaining. Please enjoy this pure Texas honey produced from wildflowers in Collin, Grayson, Hunt, and Fannin Counties on farms such as Sloans Creek Farm, operated by Nathan & Ellen Melson.
This honey is excellent for all your needs and cooking as well!!
